Academy President, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, has reacted to the lack of diversity backlash that followed the announcement of the 2016 Oscars nominees list. This marks the second year in a row in which no person of color was nominated in any of the four major categories.

This led to the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite with so many twitter users regardless of their race bashing the academy for their obvious neglect of the ingenuity of filmmakers from other race.

Speaking to Deadline, Isaacs said “Of course I am disappointed, but [it is] not to take away the greatness (of the films nominated). This has been a great year in film, it really has across the board. You are never going to know what is going to appear on the sheet of paper until you see it. We have got to speed it up.”

I really don’t know what she means by speed it up but the Academy definitely has issues with actors from other race and having a black host won’t cut it this time.
