Burna Boy Wura
It’s going to be a November to remember, for fans of “Nigeria’s Rockstar” Burna Boy, as he is set to release his sophomore album in November.
Burna Boy has been able to carve a niche for himself with his unique style of music that stands him out in the Nigerian music industry. This is reflected in his break out single “Like to Party” which gave him the mainstream appeal he needed in a short period. And although Burna Boy has had a few clashes with the media, his fans and alternative music lovers have stayed loyal to the bonafide Nigerian “bad boy.”
Wurafact: Burna Boy’s Grandfather, Benson Idonije, was the manager of legendary Afrobeat creator, Fela Anikulapo Kuti
Burna Boy has already released singles off the album and with the reception gotten from songs like “Soke,” “Follow Me,” “Rockstar,” and “Don Gorgon,” he will be pretty confident that he can shake off the sophomore jinx that affects most artiste who have a great first debut album.
The album “On a Spaceship” will be released under his own imprint, Spaceship Records, following his exit from the record label that brought him into limelight, Aristocrat Records.
However, there are no words on which digital platform, the artiste will adopt to distribute his album, as fans all over the world (most especially Nigeria), rarely patronize the album stores to satisfy their music need. But rest assured that we’ll keep you posted when we get more information from the artiste’s management.
