South African Rapper , Cassper Nyovest was named “Trendsetting Celeb of The Year” at the just concluded 2015 SATY awards where Jason Derulo made his now famous blunder.
Casper Nyovest, who has been in a long running battle with fellow South African Rapper, Aka, has had a great year so far. He released his platinum debut album Tsholofelo last year which launched him into the mainstream market.
Casper Nyovest has also revealed the tracklist for his new album Refiloe which has Hip Hop heavyweights, The Game and Dj Drama, alongside other South African acts.
The ambitious rapper has set his sights on filling up the 20,000 capacity TicketPro Dome, in Johannesburg, South Africa which has not been achieved by an indigenous South African act without support from an international act.
The Saty Awards is in its second year of existence and the fact that it’s aimed at highlighting and celebrating the success of South Africans, who have contributed positively across various fields to the unity and diversity of country, makes the award much more valuable to Casper Nyovest.
Other notable winners at the awards ceremony includes DJ Sbu who was rewarded for the achievement of his foundation, Sibusiso Leope Education Foundation Spirit Of Humanity has attained in South Africa rural areas, Entrepreneur Of The Year went to Tbo, and Hugh Masekela got the Touch and Lifetime Achievement Award.
