Here goes another public fraud scandal unravel – and it’s subject, a popular fake cancer survivor.
Belle Gibson, a 23-year-old Australian blogger/author used Instagram to share her fearless journey with cancer, accruing millions of followers and supporters, gave out healthy-living tips, created a wellness app, and even wrote a cookbook – and it was all a lie.
In the last two years, the Australian cancer advocate amassed a widespread following, sitting for tearful interviews and created TheWholePantry app. Alongside the app, came a book that made her a millionaire.
Gibson’s cancer concoction started to crumble as inconsistencies in her stories became notable. She has now admitted to fabricating her captivating tale of surviving brain cancer by opting for self-treatment with nutritional powerhouse foods aimed at healing the body.
In an exclusive interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly, Gibson speaks out on her scandal,
“No. None of it’s true,” she confessed. “I am still jumping between what I think I know and what is reality. I have lived it and I’m not really there yet,” said the single mother.
