D’Angelo Russell has apologized for recording the now viral video of his teammate, Nick Young, confessing to cheating on his fiancée, Iggy Azalea. Which has led to series of backlash from even the LA Lakers fanbase.
D’Angelo Ruseell, who has reportedly been isolated by his teammates for being a “snitch” was booed at the Staples Center crowd during last night’s game and called ‘snitch’ ‘snitch’ every single time he touched the ball or made a move with the ball. Thus, in order to stem the tide a little bit, he has made a public apology
“I never intentionally wanted to hurt anyone,” he told The Vertical. “I never wanted what was said in there to get out. It was my fault that it did, but that was never intentional.”
Russell referred to the incident as one of the pranks the pair often pulled on one another and he didn’t consider that it could “have bigger consequences.”
“I am sick. I am sorry about recording the video,” Russell said. “I can’t repeat myself enough on that: I am sorry I recorded that video. I feel horrible. I wish this never happened.”
“I know this is going to be tough,” he said. “I am a good person. I cherish the relationships I have and I would never intentionally hurt someone. I will work hard to earn back the trust of my teammates and those who were impacted by this.” He added that “I’ll do whatever it takes.”
“It wasn’t something for everyone else to see. [Nick and I] talked a little bit. I let him know my apologies. I don’t know if they were accepted. That was an incident of playing too much goes wrong.”
Nick Young, who as at the centre of the whole crisis, also commented on the issue;
“Me and D’Angelo handled the situation we have in a private matter. I think it’s something we really do need to sit down and talk about,” Young said. “That’s about it. What happened is what happened. We gotta work on it.”
Maybe, just maybe, this would reduce the backlash he has been getting, but why isn’t anyone attacking the cheater, Nick Young?
