Doris Simeon reveals why she’s more visible in yoruba speaking movies than the English speaking movie genre in the Nigerian movie industry.
Doris Simeon is one of the top Nollywood actresses in the Yoruba movie genre even though she’s from a different part of Nigeria (Edo state in the South south region), where the language is sparingly used.
The actress in a chat with NET explained that her appearance in Yoruba movies is not deliberate but as a result of the offers she receives. She said”
“I started up with ‘Papa Ajasco and Company’ and it was on that set that I got my first Yoruba script. Doing that, other roles started coming in even before I finish one, others would come again, so it is as the scripts come.”
However, Doris Simeon, who took part in the epoch making two cast movie, Modupe Temi ( watch right here), alongside Saheed Balogun, still features in English movies (sparingly though) and only weeks ago returned from South Africa where she was on set of Lincoln’s Clan.
The actress is still involved in a long drawn divorce and custody battle with estranged husband, Daniel Ademinokan. Her husband has since moved on to actress, Stella Damascus, but she seems to have put all that behind her as recently said that she’s ready to give marriage a try once again.
