Dr. Ameyo Stella Adedevoh’s Family Have Made Legal Moves To Stop The Movie, 93 Days

Dr. Ameyo Stella Adedevoh

Dr. Ameyo Stella Adedevoh’s family have made legal moves to stop the movie, 93 Days, from being released.

Movie lovers will have to wait a while before seeing the movie 93 days, which is based on the heroic efforts of medical personnels at the first consultant hospital in Lagos led by Dr Ameyo Stella Adedevoh.

The family of the late heroic doctor have issued a letter to the producers of the movie, stating that they didn’t give producers the right to use her image in the movie and states that parts of the movie do not reflect a true image of what truly transpired.

The letter reads;

“It has been brought to our attention that a movie titled 93 Days written by Paul .S. Rowlston and produced by Native Filmworks, Michelangelo Productions and Bolanle Austin-Peters Productions is in works for imminent release.

The movie, about Nigeria’s Ebola story and “dedicated to” Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh is not endorsed by the family.

The script was shared with the Adedevoh and Cardoso family only after it was completed and the family strongly questions the integrity and authenticity of the story as it relates to the depiction of Dr. Ameyo Stella Adedevoh.

The inaccuracies in the movie do a great injustice and disservice to the life work of Dr Ameyo Stella Adedevoh. Specific accounts in the script are in incorrect and Mr. Afolabi Cardoso (husband) and Mr Bankole Cardoso (son) are depicted in the movie without their consent. Further, the use of private information, as it relates to the medical records of the deceased, is morally reprehensible.
“The Adadevoh and Cardoso family has not consented to the use of the Stella Adadevoh’s name, likeness or image for commercial profit. The family intends to hold the filmmakers legally accountable for any falsehoods and innuendos in the movie ‘93 Days’ with regard to Dr. Adedevoh and her family.”

The Adedevoh and Cardoso family is committed to ensuring the true story is told as it pertains Dr Ameyo Stella Adedevoh.”

Honestly I’m taken aback by the fact that the movie producers didn’t get express permission from the family before making the movie. Because now the credibility of the movie is being called into question.

However, I do hope this legal issue can be resolved in time. I’d like to at least get a glimpse of the incredible effort of the doctors, who helped in containing the Ebola scourge in Nigeria.

The movie, 93 days features Hollywood star, Danny Glover, Steven Reid, and Nigerian actors which includes, Bimbo Akintola, Keppy Ekpeyoung, Gideon Okeke, and other top actors.
