The most talked about movie in Nigeria at the moment, Fifty, movie which was directed by Biyi Bandele and produced by Mo Abudu has emerged as the movie with the highest ever opening weekend in Nigerian cinema history.
The movie Fifty, which first premiered in the UK, had its grand opening on Sunday, December 13, 2015, in Lagos with all the movie stars in attendance. And given the review the movie has received thus far it’s no surprise that it is pulling huge audience to the cinema (even above Star Wars which premiered 2 days ago in Nigeria).
The announcement was made by the movie’s official twitter account, although no official numbers have been given yet. (see tweet below).
“Fifty” captures a few pivotal days in the lives of four Nigeria women at the pinnacle of their careers. It follows the lives of four friends who are forced at midlife to take inventory of their personal lives, while juggling careers and family against the sprawling backdrops of the upper middle-class neighbourhoods of Ikoyi and Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria.
