The Big Brother Africa party is back, and this time it will be hosted by Ghana. This is the first time the popular reality show will be hosted outside of South Africa.
Big Brother Africa is currently the most watched TV show in Africa, with well over 50 million viewers. It was halted for a year due to some internal issues between Africa’s biggest TV content distributor, DSTV, and it’s franchise owner, Endemol.
Bringing the party to Ghana might just be a strategy by the Big Brother Team this year, it may increase the show’s appeal in a part of the continent that follows the show religiously. And it will give fans in the country the chance to meet with their favourite housemates and party with top African entertainers.
The 2015 Big Brother Africa party is set to kick off in December with a massive opening party at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra. All the old housemates will converge with performances from Africa’s biggest musicians and one surprise international act.
The event will be hosted ex Big Brother Africa house mates Luis and Ellah, with Mr. 265 as the official DJ for the night.
Big Brother Africa has helped in launching the careers s of Uti Nwachukwu, Elikem, Karen Igho, Tayo Faniran, Dillish Matthew and other winners, who are also doing great in different endeavours.
Although the reality TV show has been criticized for its nudity features, which is seen as “alien” to “African culture,” it still enjoys massive appeal especially in the East, West and South Africa.
