Netflix is looking to cash in on Will Smith success at the box office, as the global streaming service are set to pay $90 million to produce and maintain exclusive right over his new movie.
The movie is a cop thriller titled “Bright” that contains ‘fantastical elements’ (including orcs) and Netflix will reportedly spend about $45 million to shoot the film, $45 million for actors, and another $3 million for the script by Max Landis.
Netflix has made huge movie push in the past but this without a doubt is their biggest investment yet. It is closely followed by the $60 million the company paid for Brad Pitt’s movie, War Machine. Which has not been released yet.
“Bright”, will be directed by David Ayer and no release date has been announced yet.
