Spike Lee says he never called for an Oscar boycott despite the fact that his instagram post seem to suggest that.
The Oscar honorary winning movie director appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ to correct multiple media reports on the issue.
However, Spike didn’t hold back in his criticism of the Academy for shutting out black actors and films. He then made it clear that his decision to not attend this year’s event is not the same as calling for a boycott.
Lee said he and his wife would be at the Knicks game at Madison Square Garden the night of the Oscars, and everyone else can either attend or not, that’s not his business.
