Janet Jackson has been forced to postpone her Unbreakable World tour just a few months after kicking it off due to health complications.
The pop diva made the announcement via her social media page on Christmas Eve, which is one Christmas gift her fans were not looking forward to. She wrote:
“I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon,” the 49-year-old icon wrote. “It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced. Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time. There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon’ b alright.”
She followed up the news with a holiday message on twitter:
Janet Jackson kicked off her world tour in Vancouver, Canada on Aug. 31 and has been touring through November. After a holidays break, she was billed to get back on stage on January 9 in Denver, Colorado. But with this announcement, that will not be happening.
Janet Jackson Unbreakable Number One
This might not be unrelated to her decision to go against her doctor’s advice to stay off the tour until she was 100 percent fit. But after being away for so long, it’s not hard to see why she ignored that advice.
We all hope she will be able get back on her feet in time and get back to doing what she knows how to do best.
