Kenyan actress, Lupita Nyong’o, switches up her style with some killer poses for the January issue of Essence magazine where she talks about her career, dealing with fame, and more.
Lupita Nyong’o is slowly becoming a “fashionista,” and the most unique thing about her is that the fact that she looks stylish without having to dress almost naked. And the naked dress is definitely a thing right now.
She opened up on the price of her “sudden” fame, finding balance, getting featured in the Eclipsed stage play, and of course getting a role on the top movie franchise, Star Wars.
“I didn’t grow up seeing African women onstage very often, much less African women in African stories. I was in love with the world Danai created,” she said.
The actress, who has once said she is not scared of failure, reveals in the magazine that handling the fame after 12 years a slave was a bit difficult for her.
“After 12 Years a Slave and the quote-unquote meteoric rise, I felt like there was a moment where I was suffering from whiplash. I had talked so much about who I was that I’d forgotten who I was.”
The all “getting carried away” might have been on of the reasons why she broke up with waving flag singer, K’Naan, but she’s still an African and Hollywood sweetheart because she’s been able to stay scandal free.
