African female celebs unite in touching photos for the Respect a Woman campaign
The Respect A Woman campaign was initiated last year by former Mr Nigeria and actor, Emmanuel Ikubese to shed more light on domestic violence against women, which is prevalent in all regions of the World.
The campaign was well received last year with a lot of celebs coming out to support the initiative and this year’s campaign pictures, that has just been released showcases a host of female celebs depicting “abused” women in a way that definitely sends a message across to all and sundry.
Domestic violence is a scourge that destroys the self-esteem of the victim and is one experience no woman should ever have to deal or live with it regardless of the situation. And its great to see celebs helping to raise awareness as they have a greater outreach.
We at wura support this initiative and appeal to every woman in the World to speak up when something like this occurs, because if it happens once. There are chances that it will happen again.
Top celebs including Juliet Ibrahim, Adunni Ade, Beverly Naya, Tania Omotayo, Layole Oyatogun, Lisa Omorodion and Taje Prest all participated in the shoot which depicts the ills of the negative act. “No woman should ever have to go through such pain and torture. I know how it feels like and I know these women need help that’s why we are in support”. Juliet Ibrahim who directed the shot posted on Instagram.
