One NBA Player Stabbed, Two Other Players Arrested At NYC Nightclub


A dispute turned violent outside a NYC Nightclub left Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland stabbed and two Atlanta Hawks players arrested.

After an argument outside 1 Oak nightclub, Copeland, 31, a former member of the Knicks, his wife, Katrine Saltara, 28, and another woman all sustained knife injuries that caused all three to be rushed to nearby hospitals, reported ABC.

Shezoy Bleary, 22, was arrested for allegedly stabbing Copeland, Saltara and a third victim, 53-year-old Catherine Somani, whom Bleary is reported to be acquainted with.

Amid the frenzy, Thabo Sefolosha, 30, and Pero Antic, 32, of the Atlanta Hawks were also charged with resisting arrest and menacing, both facing charges of obstructing justice and disorderly conduct.

Sources stated that the Hawks players,

refused to move when police tried to set up a crime scene.”

Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird released a statement saying,

“We are aware that Chris Copeland was injured early this morning in New York City…we are still gathering information and will update when we know more. Our thoughts are with Chris and those injured.”

All three injured are expected to recover.
