Patti Boulaye Gets OBE Title From The British Empire

Nigerian/British singer, Patti Boulaye, has been awarded the Officer of the Most Excellent Order (OBE) of The British Empire.

The veteran Nigerian singer moved to Britain at the age of sixteen and got her first break in the entertainment scene when she got a role in the original London production of Hair.

In 2003, Boulaye launched her West End musical Sun Dance, which took twelve years to put together and was hailed as a celebration of “the colours and music of Africa in a display of ceremonial dances, rituals and initiation ceremonies, indigenous to Africa.”

The honour was bestowed on her by HRH Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.
