Remember that white woman Rachel Dolezal, who portrayed being a black woman for the last decade but in real life was really white, but had braids, and curly ‘black’ hair? Yea, that Rachel Dolezal.
Well, she’s back on the radar with the name of her unborn son, and we are still wondering if we are shocked or not.
So after being outed as a ‘fake black woman’ that went to an historical black college, mini-celeb, Rachel Dolezal, announced in August that she’s pregnant and has now revealed that she plans to name her unborn son, Langston.
Yes, beautiful name indeed. You know, like the historical Harlem Renaissance poet Langston Hughes.
On Monday, Dolezal boldly stated,
“I’m naming him Langston because of Langston Hughes’ ‘Mother to Son’ poem.” (How sweet)
The 37-year-old former President of an NAACP chapter has revealed that she has lost a third of her friends and she’s still unemployed.
“Life hasn’t been easy for me at all, but I keep going. I’m still climbing, so don’t you sit down and stop. You keep going, and I want that to be a lesson for all my sons.”
Hughes’s poem “Mother to Son” is one of his most famous pieces and describes the struggle for equality. It reads:
Well, son, I’ll tell you: life for me ain’t been no crystal stair,
Don’t you set down on the steps ’cause you finds it’s kinder hard.
Don’t you fall now — for I’se still goin’, honey, I’se still climbin’, and life for me ain’t been no crystal
Perhaps Rachel Dolezal now relates in her own unique yet insightful story as a ‘black woman.’ We’re sure many will have something to say about the former adjunct professor’s decision.
