Gilbert Arenas WNBA Comments #clapback

Gilbert Arenas WNBA comment is making headlines for its sexist nature. He made a post on instagram that featured two girls half naked (one wearing a thong and baring all) with the comment, “NOW this is what america was hoping for when they announced the #WNBA back in 1996…”

Gilbert Arenas if you want to watch half naked or completely naked women run around, then what you are looking for is porn. Not a competitive sports arena. See his post below:

Many NBA and WNBA players took offensive at Arenas’ words and rightly so. The WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne had this to say to Arenas on instagram:

“Women were not put on this earth just for men to look at,” she wrote. “We are people. We have a purpose. We are role models. I am an athlete first and foremost. #ByeGilbert.”

Gilbert included more hateful words in his instagram post: “a bunch of chicks running around looking like cast members from #orangeisthenewblack…dont get me wrong they have a few #cutiepies but theres a whole alotta #beanpies running around hahahahahaha”

For starters, a lot of those “chicks” on Orange is the New Black are hot, like really hot. But, I get the rudeness you were trying to imply. Beanpies though Gilbert Arenas, like really? As a long-time Wizards fan (we had season tickets when they were the Bullets), it’s almost as you’ve ruined a part of my childhood, not just disgraced the male gender.

Many people of course disagreed, but a lot of Twitter said he was right. The post did get over 15,000 likes. Sexism is definitely not over in this country.

Twitter was not having any of Gilbert’s craziness:

Ooh girl, Shade? Yes! Warranted? Hells Yes!

Yes, Gilbert Arenas we remember you were that dude who brought a GUN to practice. This guy has never had good judgement.

Intelligent and true.

And the classy, elegant diss with just the right amount of undertone of hate and disgust

But crazy enough a lot of people (males) agreed with the Gilbert Arenas WNBA remodel:

Do you think the Gilbert Arenas WNBA comments were sexist, funny, or true?
