It’s safe to say that without the achievements and mishaps of these entertainers our life might be boring as they keep us entertained and occupied when we need a little spice in our social life.So stick with us as we take you through the Top Hits and Misses so far of the year 2015

Yemi alade: HIT

Yemi Alade Wura tv

2015 is one year the “king of Queens”, Yemi Alade won’t forget in a hurry. Yemi Alade swept virtually all the awards she was nominated for this year including the coveted MAMAS African Female Artiste of the year and NEA Nigerian female Artiste of the year. She is currently the biggest female act in Nigeria music scene, no disrespect to Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay.

Skibii: MISS

skibii wura tv

Skibii Mayana of 5 star music maybe the epitome of a miss. It came as a surprise to everyone when we woke up to the news on the 14th of August that he passed on per the  Lindaikeji news outlet.
Everyone took to social media to post eulogies in his honour. Soon  it was discovered, he wasn’t dead after all. His management blamed the whole issue and misunderstanding on their now “ex manager” Sosoberon who “hurriedly” pronounced him dead.To release a song that needs promotion and suddenly die at the same time doesn’t quite add up. Skibii you missed this one.

Timaya and Sheila B: MISS

Timaya wuratv

We’ve heard of stories where celebs take advantage of female admirers and sometimes it’s even the other way around because of their Celeb status without any problem(there are exceptions though). So when the Timaya rape scandal involving the U.S. based Sheila B broke it took everyone by surprise. The incident which allegedly occurred in an hotel room in Atlanta, Georgia became public knowledge when Sheila B posted snapshots and stories of the alleged rape incident on instagram. After counter accusations from both camps, the case died down but whatever went down this is one issue that called into question Timaya’s character. This is a MISS in this calendar year.

Comedian Endorsement deals

The comedians in the Nigerian entertainment industry have grown in leaps and bounds and so has their bank accounts. 2015 saw the likes of Ay, Bovi , and Basket Mouth add to their impressive list of endorsement deals while the “Madman” Akpororo got on the  endorsement train with his deal with Airtel. Nothing is more awesome than getting rewarded for your work, innit?

Kunle Afolayan “October 1:” HIT

october 1 wuratv

It seems everything Kunle Afolayan touches to turn to gold and October 1 is definitely one of his best works. The fact that this movie was released in 2014 and he is still breaking cinema and pay per view records in the  year 2015 speaks volume.

This is unarguably his biggest movie yet and we eagerly await the release of his new movie titled “THE CEO.”

Jidenna “Classic Man:” HIT

Jidenna wuratv

*SCREAMING* I’M A CLASSIC MAN” Jidenna brought back the sexy suit look back with his entrance into the music scene. Jidenna Theodore Mobison has strong Nigerian roots (his dad his Nigerian) released the Classic Man song and blew everyone away from the united states to the west coast of Africa.  He has since identified with the Nigerian entertainment industry by perfoming with Nigerian acts in shows abroad. The song which still gets heavy rotation on cable platforms is one of the biggest tunes of the year 2015 and we are proud to say he is Nigerian.

Vector the Viper: HIT

Vector wuratv

The influx of local content in the Nigerian HipHop culture has somewhat diminished the freestyle and battle HipHop is known for. A few top acts in the Nigerian entertainment scene have however kept the core value of rap alive and one of them is Vector the Viper. Vector made history by rapping for a whole two hours thirthy minutes on live radio, which is the longest anyone has done not just in Nigerian entertainment industry but on the continent. Vector you definitely HIT this one.

**These are but a few of the HITS and MiSSES, we’ll bring you a comprehensive list at the end of the year.
