Favorable R&B star and actor, Tyrese Gibson, 36, is making huge waves with his final comeback on the music platform. His final album, Black Rose, is now the No.1 album in the country.
The last time Gibson made it to the Hot 100 list was back in 2003, but perhaps the singer saved the best for last, seeing as this is the first of his seven studio albums to ever reach the top spot.
Then again, the California native hit the ground running to spread the word on his final solo music project earlier this month when he took to NYC subway to promote it. In a two-minute video that went viral on Facebook, the accomplished star interacted and bonded with commuters as he announced that his album can be found at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.
During his recent appearance on Power 105’s The Breakfast Club, the Fast and Furious star said his motivation for Black Rose is the love he still feels for his former partner of five years and his desire to have her back.
“That’s where the inspiration for the song ‘Shame’ came from. It’s a song about being honest, transparent and vulnerable,” he told hosts DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God.
Despite the sadness of many fans, Gibson insist that a focus on his personal life, specifically his role as a father to his 7-year-old daughter, Shayla, is the reason he’s walking away after Black Rose.
Well based on his sales and raves about the album, the singer is definitely walking away with a bang.
