WE tv

WE Tv is bringing its own spin to the lives of rich kids, but only more ‘urban.’ Get ready for  Growing Up Hip Hop folks.

On the upcoming reality show, we will be taking a closer look into the lives of the sons and daughters of musical legends.

Sure enough, everything that glitters isn’t gold, and the grass might be perfectly manicured, but it may not be greener for these rich kids.

The likes of Angela Simmons, (daughter of Run- D.M.C‘s Rev Run) and Romeo Miller formerly known by most as Lil Romeo will be gracing our lovely screens come January 2016.

The show promises to reveal what we already know of course, which is simply this – being born into a famous family comes with its many, many privileges and its loads of drama.

Other cast members include Damon “Boogie” Dash (son of former Roc-A-Fella Records mogul Damon Dash), Kristinia DeBarge (daughter of James DeBarge), TJ Mizell (son of the late Jam Master Jay) and Egypt Criss (daughter of Sandra “Pepa” Denton from Salt-N-Pepa and rapper Treach from Naughty By Nature).

It appears the cameras will follow these youngins’ as they try to polish their crafts under the spotlight of their parents’ stardom.

The show intends to portray these young potential stars as they navigate the industry juggling their crafts with the pressure to emulate the success of their parents.

Growing up Hip Hop airs on Jan. 7, 2016.
