“X-Files” Returns To TV After 13 Years

Fox announced that it will be reviving once global hit sci-fi TV show The X-Files for a six episode series with its original agents David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as Mulder and Scully.

The series follows Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents Scully and Mulder, who investigate the mysterious cases blamed on paranormal phenomena.

The Emmy-and Golden Globe-winning series ran for nine seasons between 1993 and 2002.

“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break…the good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories,” said the show’s creator and executive producer Chris Carter.

The X-Files, which earned 16 Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes is set to begin production this summer.
